Could It Be?! Asclepius?

Everyday people are in need for some sort of health related treatment. So those people go to local hospitals and receive medication. Sometimes there is nothing that can even be given for the sickness. Lately, we've had many concerns and questions about the Swine Flu. Questions that have physicians baffled. In early Greece, there were only gods known as "healers". Out of a few, there was a Greek god named Asclepuis.

Asclepuis did not begin as a god, but was a historical figure known for his healing abilities. Those who were in need, placed Asclepuis in their prayers. Ceremonies were held for healing the unhealed in homes and temples. Asclepuis' powers were so great, that those who needed healing would make sites to pray, sacrifice and deliver monetary gifts. Some days people would stay over night in the temples.
In present day, people have to face the fear of death just because they are financially unstable. The Swine Flu has been spread across all of Mexico and has been scattered around locations here in the U.S. It is not only contagious, but highly fatal.  Politicians have even talked of shutting down schools. Some of those who agree, even question their child's health in their own household .

In my personal opinion, I believe that life for everyone would be a much more peaceful place as well as less complicated if things were just that easy. For one to just be able to pray upon some god or goddess and whom ever asking for the prayer would no longer have to suffer. "Now don't we all wish there was a present-day Asclepius?"
